Morris / ABUS cranes installed at Sandvik’s central African facility
Morris Cranes, a Division of Morris Material Handling SA (Pty) Ltd (www.morris.co.za), a wholly-owned South African company and the agent of ABUS Kransysteme GmbH in South Africa, has supplied and installed ABUS electric overhead traveling cranes, pillar jibs and chain hoists to Sandvik’s recently opened new Central African facility in Kitwe, Zambia.

The installation of single girder overhead travelling cranes type ELK, 8 t SWL in both the hot metal workshop and washbay, together with three double girder overhead travelling cranes type ZLK 12.5 t SWL and four pillar-mounted jib cranes type VS SWL 2 t in the main workshops which service and maintain Sandvik Mining’s products at the new facility will play a part in enabling them to provide an even better service to their surface mining customers.
